Data Controller

1. What We Collect

• Account info — email address (via Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In)
• Learning data — spaced repetition scores, review history, mastery levels
• Journal entries — text reflections you write in the app
• Usage data — app interactions for crash reporting (via Sentry)

2. How We Use It

• Personalise your learning schedule using the FSRS-6 spaced repetition algorithm
• Track your progress across skills and concepts
• Diagnose crashes and improve app stability

Lawful Basis for Processing (GDPR)

We process your personal data on the legal basis of contract performance (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) — to provide the Flectora learning service you signed up for. Crash and performance diagnostics are processed under our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in keeping the app stable and secure.

3. Where We Store It

• On your device — SQLite database (learning state, offline cache)
• Cloud — Supabase (PostgreSQL) for account and sync data
• Knowledge graph — Neo4j for curriculum structure (no personal data)
• Cache — Redis for performance (ephemeral, no personal data)
• Error tracking — Sentry (sentry.io, EU region — anonymised crash and performance reports)

4. Third-Party Services

• Google Sign-In — authentication only; we receive your email, not your Google data
• Apple Sign-In — authentication only; you can hide your email
• Sentry — error and crash reporting (data processed in the EU region)

5. What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your data
• We do not show advertising
• We do not track you across apps or websites (NSPrivacyTracking: false)
• We do not share personal data with third parties for marketing

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

• Access your data — export from Settings
• Rectify inaccurate data — contact us
• Delete your account and all data — Settings → Delete Account
• Port your data — export from Settings
• Object to processing — contact us

7. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. On-device data is cleared immediately.

8. Children

Flectora is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated in-app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
